Shanghai Jiao Tong University, or SJTU for short, located in Shanghai, is a national key university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education and the vice-minister of the central government, which ranks among the world's leading universities in the construction of universities (Class A), Project 985 and Project 211, as well as a member of Nine-university Alliance, the President's Association of China's Universities, Universitas 21, the Union of Pacific Rim Universities, the League of 21st Century Scholars, the International Association of Applied Science and Technology Development, and the International Union of New Engineering Education. It was selected into the Everest Plan, the Strong Foundation Plan, the 111 Plan, the 2011 Plan, the Outstanding Doctor Education Program, the Outstanding Legal Talent Education Program, the Outstanding Engineer Education Plan, the Outstanding Agriculture and Forestry Talent Education Program, the State Construction High Level University Public Postgraduate Program, and the degree-authorized independent auditing unit.
